Six Sentence Sunday- 20 November 2011

Thanks for stopping by. With the holidays coming up, I'm sure a lot of us can use a reminder why our families aren't so bad. Today my six come from my short story Dessert First (which is on sale right now).

“It’s still early. I’m sure you’ll find some way to embarrass me.” Her mother glanced down to Alexis's dress, then back up at her eyes. “More than you already have.”

Alexis ran her hand over the ribbon around the her waist of the dress. After tonight, the outfit would be condemned to the back of the closet with the rest of the clothes she’d bought for her mother’s parties.

Stop by and visit all the other participating authors. Seriously, they rock!

She deserves better and I'm almost certain you give her that before this is over.

Sometimes, you just have to ignore the mother. Sad but true. :-) Nice cover!

Sounds like mother and daughter don't have the best relationship. :(

Ouch. Quite a dig from mom. I feel for her, especially that she feels bad enough to banish the dress. :(

Yow. I so hope someone will remind Alexis that she doesn't need her viper-mom's approval. Poor sweetie.

Ouch, this mother needs an attitude adjustment right now. Thanks for sharing. :)

Tension, always interesting when there's a mother/daughter divide. Makes me curious as to the backstory but will be interesting to see what happens next! Excellent excerpt!
